Our membership spans a wide range of professional journalists from over 44 countries in Africa who contribute to newspapers, broadcast news programs (radio, television and digital), magazines, journals, news services, or online publications, either on staff or in a freelance capacity.

Our objective is to create a platform to promote the rights and respects of the stakeholders engaged in the fisheries and aquaculture sector, and for their voices to be heard in policy discussions that impact their communities, their environment, and that threatens their livelihood.

Our aim is to champion the cause for better governance of Africa's fisheries and aquaculture sector and to end illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing in Africa by:

  • advocating for better fisheries and aquaculture policies and programs that enhances the legal frameworks for the rights of individuals to food security

  • advocating for enhanced methods of data collection in the fisheries and aquaculture sector that would drive policy and action plans to eradicate hunger and improve the livelihoods of millions of Africans
